Well, leaving could leave a bad impression. I would probably just mute the group and basta. But I agree. Wouldn't mix up both lifes.
-
I hate WhatsApp as for work related stuff.. There's plenty of other platforms to use to keep shit balanced instead of mixing up work/private stuff

yusijs12508yAgreed. I had a chat with my boss when I started 5 years ago, where I stated my opinion that I don't think adding work colleagues on facebook is good. I have two colleagues on fb (both of whom I spend time with in my leisure time), but nobody else (not my boss either). He's the same so he agreed. We do have a hangouts group, but 98% of what happens there is random stuff we find on the net, unrelated to work. Only work stuff happening is "I'll work from home tomorrow" and the likes. :)

@SirWindfield he was a bit dumbfounded tbh. cuz in my culture employees tend to be mad servile and take anything bending over. I can't stand that shit.
-
edit: he is not even a direct supervisor and I don't even know the people in that group. the best way to put this is, is I work as a contractor and the agency supervisor is creating a group to tell us BS updates which never affect actual work anyway. and the culture in that agency and it's employees suck. they have bad sense of humor and are over dramatic about everything. I'm only here cuz the company they outsource too are mad chill and only care about the work you do. which is how it should be. I think.

Ah ok. Would have left the group then too. Nothing to be ashamed of to be honest. It's your decision, not his.
-
I have done this too. There should be a setting in WhatsApp where you can stop people from adding you in groups. At least a confirmation.
-
@Sunsette he wouldn't know what slack is. that's how technologically backward these people are.
-
@Sunsette was just about to suggest the same thing. Slack for work and WhatsApp for friends.

my supervisor creates a WhatsApp group for 20 odd members. I exit. get a call asking why. told him work and personal life should be separate. Am I wrong???
