@lnplum Yes! They get the phone before a week of unveiling and also they are given for free!

I really don't know why any smartphone should be hyped. I mean what additional game changing functionality or radical design do they bring to the table? None? Hm.. Ok.
What they all are, is some generic hardware with a tiny bit faster CPU than last year, a screen, and Android. A couple modifications to the launcher.. Aaaand it's gone. -

Regardless of how bad OnePlus devices may appear to be, it's still nothing compared to Apple. There's just so much bad stuff that Apple does that I won't even bother listing all of it.
And the fact of the matter doesn't change that OnePlus devices are similar speced to flagships at literally half the price. -
galena71727y@agentwolf44 This is true. But there seem to be some side effects to that which were mentioned in the video. Its just that the overall hype may cause 1+ to become more like their competitors.

mrbig003297y@DLMousey check out this https://youtu.be/DzRGBAUz5mA I think that they hate it too but unfortunately this is trending so they have to adjust

Perhaps. But only time can tell.
In the meanwhile, I'll happily keep using my OnePlus 5 with Android until OP joins the rest of the gang in terms of price and greediness. I mean, iPhone X is already too expensive, and they can't even bother including a fast charger?
Either way, iPhones limited OS combined with their expensive repairs and obvious planned obsolescence will never give me any kind of motivation to buy an Apple product ever again.
I'm quite surprised how many programmers actually have iPhones, I'd have thought programmers would be the more techy people, and would want to have a more open OS on their phone so they can actually get things done easier without having to use iTunes everytime (eg. I literally drag and drop files onto my phone which I can open with my app of choice on my phone, or even manage the files with a file explorer). Android is also multitudes more customizable, icons, launchers, music/video apps, etc.
OnePlus 5T hype in a same time :D
