It's a brand new year - and my first email comes in telling me the app is broken because they didn't receive any push notification (....no push notification was sent from them), the web cams don't work (....they've changed all the links to the webcams and now they're surprised it doesn't work in the app) and the app isn't available in France (the app is literally available in France).
Oh and if a user changes their font sizes in their mobile settings, it doesn't always look "very good" in the app.......

You either tell customer is an idiot or:

    1) Are customers idiots? How can they tell they didn't receive notifications and not realize they didn't send any? I know, customers always suprise me in new horrendous ways, but this seems a bit too careless?

    2) "They changed...:" and how you have to maintain it? You hardcoded them in your code?

    Your fault? Bad Practice?

    3)same as 1

4)It's your duty to make it look good even if they change font

@IHateFrameworks The last requirement is a bit too hard to satisfy. A senior management officer in my office changed her phone's font size to maximum, and the final layout display sucks in all apps.

@IHateFrameworks you have to ask yourself whether or not the customers said that the webcam urls be hardcoded......(yes)

@daniel-wu Well, I agree. I was a bit too nitpicky on that one

@ojt-rant and? If you warned it and there is an analysis document signed by both, you're safe to show him middle finger.

It's your duty to make him notice that hardcoding urls is stupid.

It's your duty to protect yourself to stupidity of others.

Otherwise you're free to go and on your own when problems arise.
