A new online store for custom PC has opened in Switzerland.

For overclocking they want CHF 10 (around 9.50 $) more for every MHz.

I know that some people gonna buy this shit and pay for that. If that people knew that you only need to access BIOS/After Burner for it 😂😂😂😂

@jobylie If you underclock, fans don't spin up, so it's silent.

With any recent GPU it's all bullshit, they underclock with fans to 0rpm out of the box, and both CPU and GPU will automatically do light overclocking to the sensible limits of stock coolers as well.

@bittersweet yes that is true, but under normal use (anything other than "100%-tasks") the fans don't do more than 20% of the max rpm. So noise isn't a problem anyway with modern Hardware if you don't use it for rendering or similar tasks. And for that you shouldn't underclock, or at least I don't see the point. When I buy highend hardware for rendering I expect highend performance. The only point that is kind of useful is uc for a better lifetime. Many bitcoin miners do that to increase resale value.

Under-clock​-ing only makes sense if you don't need the performance.

What gains you less heat and therefore noise is Under-volt-ing.

There is a correlation between clocks and voltage
That is why stuff becomes unstable at some point.

Plainly just lowering clocks does not change anything at power consumption unless the hardware itself then throttles down the voltage.

The ultimate goal is to have the same performance with the lowest possible voltage and therefore power-consumption.
